Bright sunshiny day

Today I am grateful for beautiful warm sunshine, the great aussie bbq, and the laughter of my children as they run and play outside in freshly mown grass.

I *heart* Spring.

Questions from the peanut gallery

I was showing our wedding album to the 4 year old today, and the conversation went something like this:

Boy Genius: Mum, why did Dad choose you to be married to?
Me: Hmmm, that's an interesting question...
Boy Genius: I know! It's because you're the best cook!
Me: Hmm, maybe...
Boy Genius: You are the best cook Mum. You really are.

Thank you my darling.

A Snappy Solution (this one's for you Cam)

Last week I had a lovely visit at Karen's place. Karen made us a yummy soup for lunch, the kids played and danced and dressed up, and Karen and I made wedding plans for them took them out for a walk. It was a fab day, and Karen has blogged some great pics here showing just some of the children's excellent fashion sense.

Not surprisingly, with 5 children under 5 years between us we didn't get any sewing done, but we did manage to have a play with Karen's snap press. It's awesome, I definitely need to buy one!

And Cam, you'll be pleased to hear, we replaced the broken snap on your pinny - hurrah!

So it's ready to be delivered to Spotlight with the other 20 or so dresses and 8 pairs of  shorts which have been sent to me by so many wonderful crafty peeps.

And another birthday...

I am a lucky girl. Today I awoke to steaming hot coffee, 2 boxes of beautifully wrapped chocolates, a gorgeous new watch, 2 beautiful handmade cards (one of which has a dancing 'Y' on it I am reliably informed by the 4 year old), and a whole lot of love.
I'm looking forward to a lunch date with some special girls in my life, and The Bloke Who Lives At My Place has been ordered by his lovely boss to come home early. Yep, I am one lucky girl.

Special Guest Contributor - Blogtoberfest Day 7

In the spirit of Blogtoberfest I am sharing the love - today's post will be written by The Craft Gypsy Junior Edition (7). Enjoy!

During the school holidays my two friends came over and we watched a tutorial called how to make a little teddy bear from fondant because we were making cupcakes (but we didn't eat the bears because we loved them so much!). The tutorial was super easy!

Mine is the green one in the middle.

One of my friends can't eat gluten so we had to use a special type of flour to make the cupcakes. They tasted exactly the same!
We also made flowers, letters and hearts out of fondant to decorate our cupcakes.

We had so so so much fun.
THE END
ps thanks for reading.

Let's start at the very beginning...

...it's a very fine place to start.

So I'm totally new to blogging, but have been crafting for quite some time. Although I do consider myself a 'beginner' in crafting as I'm still experimenting, trying new things and generally finding my crafting feet. So I will attempt to publish new craft projects as I do them, but will also randomly publish projects I have already completed.
I have three young children, Princess Z aged 7, Mr Jumping Bean aged almost 4, and Poor Point 3 aged 6 months, so forgive me if my posts are spasmodic and/or slap dash at times!
Crafting and being creative is the thing I do to keep me sane, have a break from my everyday life and to have some all important ME TIME! I love it.
My gorgeous friend Sam recently moved overseas and bequeathed me her Janome, so I dived into 2 terms of beginner sewing lessons and now the Janome and I are in love and are quickly becoming inseperable. I am about to attempt a quilt *gasp* for Princess Z, so will keep you updated on the progress of this project.
